Freedom of Collective Bargaining

Yapı Kredi respects the freedom of collective bargaining and the professional associations of its employees in line with the relevant legislation, and avoids operations that could pose a risk to the rights and freedoms of its internal stakeholders in this area. To inform all employees about their union rights, the articles of collective labor agreements are communicated via various communication channels, and information on the matter is shared during orientation training.

As Per Law No 6356 on Trade Unions and Collective Labor Agreements, there is a Collective Bargaining Agreement in place between Yapı Kredi and the Union of Bank and Insurance Workers (BASISEN) which is renewed at certain intervals. As a part of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, BASISEN has assigned Workplace Union Representatives to represent its members. As part of "employees' right to unionization," Yapı Kredi employees may join a union.

The articles of the collective agreement are announced through the intra-bank channels (intranet and internal communication announcements) accessible to all the employees throughout the bank. Additionally, an outline on unionization is given to new employees during the orientation process. Furthermore, the Employee Relations Advisory Board (CIDAK) was established to contribute to rapid and timely resolution - through social dialogue - of problems that may arise in the workplace, to preserve the peace between Yapı Kredi and Union members, and to increase productivity. A total of six CIDAK meetings are held annually.
