One time password is mandatory at Internet banking and WAP banking logins, effective January 1, 2010, according to the Communiqué on the Fundamental Principles of Management Information Systems of Banks, published in the Official Gazette No. 26643, dated September 14, 2007, by the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency.

One Time Password Products

Yapi Kredi Internet banking one time password (OTP) products are as follows:

Smart banking is offered for corporate Internet banking and is available by contacting your branch.

How will the decree affect our existing customers ?

For customers who have never used a one time password product, after you enter your user ID and password and log in to Internet banking, a screen will appear where you may select a one time password product.

For customers who choose OTP SMS, your mobile phone information must be updated. In order to use OTP Mobile, your mobile phone must support Java applications.

For customers who currently use OTP SMS to approve transactions, you'll continue to benefit from this product when you use it to log in to Internet banking as of January 1, 2010.

The records at Smart PIN Defined Receivers List show the receivers who are approved by Smart PIN Password for a transaction of money transfer before.

At the approval screen of the transactions in this list, no Smart PIN password will be used.

You can perform your future money transactions without using Smart PIN Password by adding the receiver account to "Smart Pin Defined Receivers List". You can reach the "Smart Pin Defined Receivers List" under Security Settings / Smart Pin menu and update your list whenever you want.

For customers who currently use OTP Token and OTP Mobile, you will not be affected by this new application. Just continue to use your OTP Token or OTP Mobile to log in to Internet banking.

You can use OTP Token and OTP Mobile for both transaction approvals and internet banking logins as of 01 January 2010

In case you choose OTP Token / OTP Mobile for transaction approval, you can perform your future money transactions without using Smart PIN Password by adding the receiver account to "Smart Pin Defined Receivers List". You can reach the "Smart Pin Defined Receivers List" under Security Settings / Smart Pin menu and update your list whenever you want.

For customers who use Turkcell Mobile Signature, simply use this product to log in to Internet banking, effective January 1, 2010.

For customers using two or more products – a combination of OTP Mobile, OTP Token, and OTP SMS – you will not be affected by this change. Simply log in to Internet banking with OTP Mobile or OTP Token and continue to approve your transactions with OTP SMS.

For customers using Mobile Signature and OTP SMS, as of January 1, 2010, after you enter your user ID and password, options will appear on the information screen. If you make no selection, you can simply continue to use your Mobile Signature to log in and approve transactions.

For customers using Mobile Signature as well as OTP Mobile or OTP Token, you will not be affected by this change. You may use OTP Mobile or OTP Token to log in to Internet banking and then use Mobile Signature to approve your transactions.

Smart banking may continue to be used to log in to Internet banking. Smart banking is an option only available to corporate customers.

How do I apply for a one time password product?

In order for you to avoid encountering any issues when logging in to Internet banking as of January 1, 2010, it is crucial you choose the one time password product you prefer to use as soon as possible.

If you do not use any of the security products at this point, simply choose one of one time password products from the screen that appears once you log in to Internet banking and enter your user ID and password. You may apply today and choose your settings for your security products from the one time password menu under the Security Settings menu on Internet banking.

Customers who have forgotten their Internet banking passwords may create new passwords from the Password Transactions menu at the upper right hand corner on the Web page at www.yapikredi.com.tr
