Banking for the Disabled

Yapı Kredi has launched “Banking for the Disabled”, an innovation that offers disabled customers easy and modern access to our banking services.

Starting by redesigning our call centers to assist our hearing impaired customers, Yapı Kredi then introduced text-to-speech technology as an addition to our “Banking for the Disabled” project. This new addition allows our blind and visually impaired customers, for example, to receive audible information on currency fluctuations in the market.

Furthermore, Yapı Kredi is the first bank in Turkey to launch “ATMs for the Disabled”, our newest feature unveiled on the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, December 3, 2009. As another part of this project, we have redesigned one of the ATMs at our Kadıköy Rıhtım branch, our pilot branch for this project, to facilitate wheelchair access. We have also converted one ATM into an ATM for the disabled at each of our Izmir Merkez, Ankara Kızılay, and Fethiye Likya branches. Yapı Kredi will expand the project to provide this service at Yapı Kredi ATMs throughout Turkey in the upcoming months.

With this exclusive project in Turkey, Yapı Kredi seeks to offer the same high standards in banking services, as those in developed countries, to the disabled – members of society who face countless difficulties at every turn in their everyday lives due to inadequate support.
