What is Yapı Kredi STEP?

Yapı Kredi STEP is a sustainability-focused feature available within the Yapı Kredi Mobile application. STEP is designed to encourage individuals to adopt more sustainable daily habits and to contribute to social and environmental causes.

Through STEP, users can earn Step Points by making sustainable choices—such as walking, reducing consumption, and selecting environmentally responsible preferences—and donate these points to non-governmental organizations (NGOs) working in areas such as education, environment, and social development.

Why Does STEP Access Step Data?

STEP requests read-only access to step count data (Steps / Step Cadence) via Android Health Connect solely for reward calculation purposes.

Step data is used to:

• Calculate Step Points based on the number of steps a user takes
• Display progress within the STEP experience
• Enable users to donate earned Step Points to selected social responsibility projects

Access to step data allows users to convert their physical activity into positive social and environmental impact.

How Is Step Data Used?

• Step data is read only, not modified or written back to Health Connect
• Data is processed only after explicit user consent
• Step data is used exclusively to calculate Step Points within the STEP feature
• Calculations are performed within the Yapı Kredi Mobile app environment
• Users can view their earned points and related contributions transparently

How Is Step Data NOT Used?

Yapı Kredi STEP does not:

• Use step data for medical diagnosis, health monitoring, or clinical purposes
• Use step data for advertising, profiling, or marketing personalization
• Sell, share, or transfer step data to third parties
• Track users without their knowledge or outside the STEP feature
• Access any other health or fitness data beyond steps

Step data is never used outside the defined STEP reward and donation mechanism.

User Control & Transparency

• STEP participation is entirely optional
• Users must explicitly grant permission to Health Connect before any step data is accessed
• Permissions can be revoked at any time via Android system settings
• If permission is removed, STEP will stop accessing step data immediately
• Users can continue using Yapı Kredi Mobile without STEP participation
