Vocational High Schools, A Matter Of Country
Yapı Kredi, through its volunteers, supports the "Vocational – Technical Education Promotion Program," which was initiated by the Koç Group in collaboration with the Ministry of National Education and with the support of the Vehbi Koç Foundation in 2007. Under this project, we are offering support to successful yet poor students gain admission to vocational high schools, where they would be trained to be employed in the industrial, IT and service sectors of the industry. We are also offering various internship opportunities to students, helping them improve their skills and gain new qualifications, and aiming at training qualified technical personnel, who are much needed in our country's economy.
Koç Holding employees are mentoring successful vocational school students who have been granted scholarships by the Vehbi Koç Foundation. Fifty successful employees chosen from the ranks of Yapı Kredi employees are working as Vocational High School Mentors and volunteering their skills to develop the personal and social development of students studying at 41 vocational high schools spread across Turkey.
In addition, we have internship opportunities for 121 vocational high school students throughout the 2012-2013 academic year. Besides the internships we offer to students, we provided students specializing in different fields access to our customer portfolio at our branches and helped them identify opportunities.
