Yapı Kredi Vocational and Technical High School’s opening ceremony took place with The Governor of Gökhan Sözer, The Kaimakam of Çayırova İbrahim Karaosmanoğlu, The Mayor of Çayırova Dr. Ekrem Faruk Taşçı, Koç Holding Company Chairman Mustafa Koç and Yapı Kredi CEO Tayfun Bayazıt on Wednesday, 18th February 2009.
400 student capacity school has 24 classrooms including computer and science laboratories. Child development, Graph, Photography, Food and Beverage Services and Clothing and Manufacturing Technology branches are areas of knowledge studied in the school. Also there is a kindergarten for 3 to 6 year old children for practical education.
Koç Holding Company Chairman Mustafa V. Koç is stated that: “It is very important that paying attention to public problems, taking care of the future of our country and raising hopes especially in these days. Therefore, we carry on with our corporate social responsibility projects”. Koç is aiming with the project of “Vocational Education: a Crucial Matter for the Nation”, to draw attention to vocational and technical education, to create a collaboration between goverment and business world, to make a contrubition creating a well-qualified labor force with our positive effect on young people. In his speech Koç also stated that “With the start of our project, the ratio of vocational and technical high school applications has increased significantly… I would like to highlight again that our young people can take places in business if they give importance on their self-education as productive individuals.” Koç also thanked to Yapi Kredi for their support and sensibilitiy in that project. In his speech Koç stated that they will continue to emphasize the importence of vocational education for devolopment of Turkey, accession of Turkey to the European Union and progress in economy.
At the official opening ceremony of Yapı Kredi Vocational and Tecnical Highschool For Girls, Yapı Kredi CEO Tayfun Bayazıt highlighted the importance of the vocational highschools and stated that Yapı Kredi evaluates it as an honour to be a part of this very crucial project. In his speech Bayazıt stated that one of Turkey’s most important issues is creating well-qualified work power and added “Yapı Kredi believes in the principle of taking responsibility in every field of life. As one of the biggest and first investors of the region we wanted to contribute to educational infrastructure as well. I want to express my sincere thanks to Kocaeli Governorship, Ministry of National Education (MEB) and Çayırova Municipality that supported us in our challenge to build up this facility.”
