Official opening of the Yapı Kredi Technical and Vocational High School for Girls, brought into service of education activities by Yapı Kredi, took place on 18 February 2009 with participation of Gökhan Sözer, Kocaeli Governor, A. Selim Parlar, Çayırova Sub-Governor, İbrahim Karaosmanoğlu, Mayor of Kocaeli Metropolitan, Dr. Ekrem Faruk Taşçı, Mayor of Çayırova, Mustafa Koç, Chairman of the Koç Holding, and Tayfun Bayazıt, Chairman of the Yapı Kredi.
With capacity to accommodate 400 students, the school, which opened its doors in 2008 – 2009 Academic Year for education, has 24 classrooms with computer and science laboratories. There are applied education programs on Child Development and Education, Graphics and Photography, Catering Services, and Clothing and Production Technology branches. There is a nursery class where children aged 3-6 are taken care of under the applied education approach. The school wrapped up the 2009 – 2010 academic year with 426 students.
Students of the Yapı Kredi Technical and Vocational High School for Girls continue to make us proud at the sports events they compete. In 2009, our girls took the second place as a team at the long distance category at the 18 March Running Race for Memory of Martyrs, took the first place as a team at the 4x100 relay race at the running competition held due to 19 May Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day, and achieved the second place at 78+ category at Judo competition in Turkish Championship.
