Donation Campaign
There are many students in Turkey who are deprived of good education opportunities due to the fact that they have lost their fathers and their families lack the financial means. Darüşşafaka Education Institutions have been trying to heal this issue for 146 years, which makes the existing social inequality problem even worse. Darüşşafaka provides education including room and board with full scholarship for successful children who lack the means for a good education from elementary school until they graduate from the high school; and the only income source of Darüşşafaka, which makes great efforts for such children so that they can become ‘great citizens, is the donations the schools collects. Yapı Kredi, based on this reality, initiated a donation campaign across all organization in 2009. An amount decided by the respective Yapı Kredi employee desiring to support the Darüşşafaka Education Institutions is deducted from his/her monthly salary and transferred to the scholarship account of the institution. Thanks to the fund created this way, more children without fathers are provided with the opportunity of a modern education.
